I was a new mom and drowning fast.

I was feeling stuck in life and didn’t know how to get myself back from how depleted and scattered I felt.

I know they were trying to make a joke of it, but there was something inside of me that thought,
“Whoah. THESE are the years that I want to feel great. I know that mothering is tough stuff, but that’s exactly why I need to feel my best NOW. I’m not interested in waiting my life away before I start feeling healthy and grounded again.”
I wanted to experience my family with more energy, lighter moods, more calm, more patience, more vitality. I wasn’t interested in putting off my health and well-being for some far-off time in the future.
A fire ignited in me to figure out what I needed in order to live the life I truly wanted within this new landscape of motherhood.
I combined all that I knew about health, nutrition and wellness from my past education and began understanding exactly how to translate that information into transformation so that lives (mine included) could actually be changed.
And as I felt better and better, I got reconnected to myself and my passions again. It became absolutely clear to me that I wanted to teach other moms exactly how to read, understand and nourish their own bodies so they could stay well in a demanding, busy life, too.
Ultimately, vibrant living is about understanding how your body, mind, emotions and spirit are designed so that you can work with your nature and not against it.
This began a whole new career and passion combining what I love to do in a way that was meeting a deep and urgent need for scattered, stressed, tired moms out there.

Who is Lisa?
Hi, I’m Lisa Byrne. It has been my honor to be a trusted advisor to mothers worldwide for living a healthy, vibrant, energized life.
I am thrilled to have created Designed for Wellness, which is my signature system for a step-by-step approach to relearning the skills necessary to stay healthy while navigating the path of motherhood. It is based on my tremendously successful individual counseling program, now put into a dynamic online group format.
Before becoming a certified holistic health coach, I earned a degree in Biochemistry with a minor in Nutrition and Metabolism and a Master’s degree in Public Health. I’ve always been fascinated with the wonders and workings of our bodies and find that a holistic approach to health pairs modern science with traditional wisdom of ancient cultures in a way that makes the most difference in people’s health.
But most of all, I’m probably a lot like you. A busy mom who is doing her best to raise and love her children, care for her spouse, manage a household, balance work and keep it all together.
As a health coach, I learned how to keep our minds, emotions and bodies healthy. But the experience of mothering challenged me to translate those things into practical, concrete strategies that work in this lifestyle. I had to test those strategies to find what worked for me so I could build a robust plan for keeping myself healthy.
Once that shift started happening in my life, everything changed. The way I looked forward to my day, the patience I have with my kids, my ability to keep on top of a hectic schedule, my body feeling energized and lighter, the ways I was using food, how I was feeding my family … it all started to just become smoother, more enjoyable.
After having my second (and then third) child, I took some time off of individual counseling. But I knew I needed to reach out and create a way to bring this process to other moms. So I began to offer online group courses and the experience has been way more than I could ever have expected.
