Calm Amidst the Storm:
Create a Personalized Restorative and Realistic Self Care Plan
with Lisa Grace Byrne, MPH CHHC

When you began this motherhood journey you were completely ready and willing to sacrifice for your children.  To put them first and to shift your life’s priorities around so that your family would thrive.

But before too long, you started to realize that a life so focused on others was draining you to the core.  And that you had less and less of the best of you to give to those you love the most.

Modern motherhood keeps us running tapped out and at top speed most of our days.  And the worst of it is that to be the parent we want to be, heck to be the person we want to be in the world, requires us to know how to recharge and refill.

But most of us never learned the skills we needed to do that while navigating the enormous role of mothering.

That is why it is crucial to our well being and the well being of our family that we invest in learning how to restore, nurture and replenish ourselves.

When was the last time you felt truly refreshed?  The last time you felt you had more than enough to meet the needs and demands of your day? Are you ready to learn exactly what you need, personally, to experience life that way?

In this hands on workshop you will learn how to create a personalized, restorative and realistic self-care plan that is effective, practical and fits in the life of a busy mom.

Inner calm and deep reserves full steam ahead!

Your Connected Happy and Hot Partnership
A workshop hosted by Lisa Grace Byrne, MPH CHHC and Carrie Contey, PhD

You met. You fell in love. You decided to make a life together.

You made a commitment to each other, to the relationship, and the two of you started off on a great adventure.

Then the children arrived.

Little ones bring more joy, more love and more sweetness. But they also bring more work and exhaustion.

The areas of family life that get hit hardest when you are parenting is your partnership and self-care. Without time for yourself, or each other, it’s far too easy for there to be no connection, less joy, and intimacy?! Fuggetaboutit.

In this workshop, you will learn

  • How self-care AND your partnership are inextricably linked.
  • How your parenting suffers when you put yourself, and your partnership, on the back-burner.
  • How exactly to prioritize your own self-care and personal growth when there are children to raise.
  • How to incorporate self-care into your life today, regardless of time or budget concerns.
  • How you can connect with your partner and get some quality time together on a regular basis.

And we will explore your hottest questions

  • How can my partner and I re-ignite some romance and intimacy?
  • How do I get my partner to be more appreciative of everything I do at home/at work?
  • How do I get my partner to want to have sex? (Yup, we’re going there!)
  • How do I let me partner know I’m just “not in the mood” even when he/she is raring to go?
  • How do we partner now, so when the kids leave, we remain friends and lovers?
You will leave Your Connected, Happy & Hot Partnership with hands on, concrete and practical tools for elevating your own personal wellness and strengthening your marital relationship without sabotaging each other in the process.
Sunday, July 1st, 2012 // 2:30-5pm // $50 Garwood Presbyterian Church
