The American Medical Association stated that about 80% of physical illness has an underlying emotional cause.  That is a phenomenal statistic.

It begs the question…what are doctors doing to treat the true cause of our distress and disease?

It is rare that I hear folks say their physicians have taken the time with them to identify the true nature of emotional or mental stress in their lives, and yet, it is very likely that without addressing and handling that first, true and lasting wellness can never set in.

When Deepok Chopra taught a class of mine, he explained this way, “We tell people that are stressful or overwhelmed and who have heart disease to lose weight, eat better and take drugs to lower their cholesterol.  They do all these things, and still die of heart disease…because stress has a biology of its own- it creates physical disease in the body.  People must change the biology of stress in order to get better.”

The good news is that just like stress has an impact on our bodies, so does happiness

Creating the biology of happiness and serenity is the best thing you can do for your health.
